Cataract Surgery Flow

  • 1.Examination and follow-up at the first visit

    Depending on the individuals' stage of cataract and their health condition, the doctor will concider whether the patient needs a follow-up or have surgery done.

  • 2. Decision of surgery

    The doctor will explain about the condition of your eye, and you will have some examinations if surgery is necessary.
    ※The timing of surgery will depends on each individual.

  • 3. Examinations required

    You need to make a reservation and come to our clinic to have some preoperative Examination before the surgery day. Preoperative examination contains deciding the diopter of the intraocular lenses and investigating whether there are other diseases on your body or not. For example, blood sampling, corneal endothelial cell test, blood oxygenation level check, etc.

  • 4. Explanation about Surgery

    The doctor will explain about the details of the cataract surgery.

  • 5. Sugery day flow

    • (1) Reception

      ·Please visit us with your family 1-2 hours before surgery.
      ·Do not forget the appointment slip, health insurance card, patient ID card and the letter of consent.

    • (2) Waiting Room

      ·All the accessory including nail polish and make-up should be taken off.
      ・We can lend you a surgical gown and cap.
      ·We will put eye drops in your eye several times.
      ·You will be given an intravenous drip.

    • (3) Surgery Room

      ・You will be advised to have a seat.
      ·See cataract surgery
      ·It takes about 10-20 minutes until finish.

    • (4) Recovery Room

      ·After surgery, you will need to take a rest for a while.
      ·We hope you to listen to the postoperative explanation with your family.

  • 6. The flow of the day after the surgery

    • A day after the surgery
      You must come to our clinic and have the follow-up examination
    • For a month
      Once per 3-7days consultation
    • After 2 months
      Once per 2-3 weeks consultation
    • After 3 months
      Once per 3-6 months consultation
